ENGdoc provided full BIM support to the Electrical contractor for the co-ordination and construction phases of a Hyperscale Data Centre located in Denmark. A full BIM team was utilised during the project, ramping up and down to match co-ordination demands throughout. All support was provided from our head office in Sligo with project teams in constant online communication to ensure milestones were achieved. The Covid-19 pandemic provided a backdrop to the delivery of this project, with had to be managed in full compliance of the regulations at the time.
Our team worked alongside the site team to deliver co-ordinated models on a zonal basis in order to meet project freeze dates. This involved intense meeting schedules with multiple other trades, frequent clash detection and resolution and a dynamic use of resources to ensure delivery.
As part of the BIM process, large sections of electrical containment were modularised for off-site construction and detailed drawings for the installation of supports needed to be co-ordinated, scheduled and delivered to allow this to work. Our team also worked to provide updated schedules throughout the project which were used to manage quantities of raw materials to site through the works.
